Legal Library Services Australian Law Librarian of the Year Award
25th September 2008
The Legal Library Services Australian Law Librarian of the Year Award was established in 2006 and recognises the dedicated work conducted by Law Librarians. The award was an initiative of recently retired LLS founder Brian Murray and is continued by Prenax Ltd who joined forces with LLS in May of this year.
The presentation was made at the Australian Law Librarians' Association Confernce last week by Legal Library Services/Prenax Managing Director, Robbie Frazer.
The award this year went to Mark Powell, Manager of the Australian Government Solicitor Melbourne Library.
"Mark is well known in Victoria as well as naitionally and prior to joining AGS was with the High Court in Canberra, including a period as Acting High Court Librarian. Mark has been a long time ALLA member including a number of years served as Secretary for the Victorian Committee. I am sure that anyone who has had dealings with Mark over the years would agree that he is deserving recipient of the award," (comments from John Botherway, National President of the Australian Law Librarians' Association.)
Congratulations Mark!
