28th April 2008
Fewer than 10 spaces remain for the 2008 Joint Study Institute that will meet in Washington DC from June 25th to 28th.
The 2008 JSI, fifth in the series sponsored by AALL, BIALL, CALL/ACBD and NZLLA features a theme of "Harmonisation and Confrontation: Integrating Foreign and International Law into the American Legal System."
Programs will explore the historical use of international law in United States Supreme Court jurisprudence, the appropriateness of using international rules and norms in US judicial decision making, as well as issues dealing with federalism, researching foreign and international law, the Web 2.0 and other related topics.
Following in the footsteps of prior JSI's, the institute promises an intimate experience featuring thought-provoking programs and speakers and exstensive opportunities for law librarians from around the world to discuss common, current and relevant issues facing us in the practice of law librarianship.
There won't be another JSI until 2010, so if you want to be a part of the JSI experience visit the webpage at: www.aallnet.org/committee/jsi for more information and registration details.
Registration closes May 1st, 2008. |
