Prenax’s acquisition
Brand and Company (Booksellers) Ltd was acquired by Prenax in the spring of 2008. Prenax and
Brand had been working together for several years on shared clients and had in that time built
up a very close and collaborative relationship. There was also a similar service orientation
and reputation, not to mention similar customers and markets. When Prenax had the opportunity
to acquire the business, we jumped at it. We found Brand & Company to be a business of
relationships and of high quality personal service.
Brand Books was originally a family business but the real growth for the company had been achieved
under the stewardship of Richard Grove, the Managing Director of Brand Books for 10 years at
the time of acquisition.
The company’s Hertford headquarters was retained by Prenax and continues to serve many of the
financial and legal services clients in London and is still considered as the de facto supplier
of legal and financial books, looseleafs, reports and all manner of grey material.
